It's Friday!!!

It's Friday so I'm gonna post some stuff from this book I have! So I thought we would talk about Mortal and Venial Sin.

SINS

Mortal Sin

When we commit some sins, we choose to turn our backs totally on God. The Church uses the term mortal sin to describe these sins. The word mortal means deadly. A mortal sin causes the loss of sanctifying grace. It kills completely the life of grace within us. Unrepented mortal sin brings eternal deatch. We can, of course, find forgiveness of mortal sins and restore our life with God through the proper celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation.

Venial Sin

Venial Sin involves a less serious offense against God. It doesn't cause the loss of sanctifying grace. The idea that they are less serious doesn't mean that it really doesn't matter that we commit them.

All sin turns our hearts away from God's love. Getting into the habit of commiting venial sins can set us up to sin more seriously.

I dont think any 'sin' is bad enough to make it so you can never be a good person again. The whole Christian religion is supposed to be based around love and forgivness, so a person can still change. It is never too late for redemption.

I totally agree but if you comment again, you can write a "nickname" in the nickname box but you don't have to make a name or anything just write that!

I agree with two things:

1. No one should be branded as a "bad person" for life.

2. You should write some sort of nickname!

I just have one question: Are you, O Anonymous One, a Christian? Just wondering. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

ps. Zo I love the things that say our names below the chat box! Absoloutley adorable! How do you do that stuff? For my blog...

I think everyone should always get a chance to do better, when it comes to little stuff. I am not the anonymous person above but I am not Christian just so you know.

I belive that you can get a second chance in everything, including life. Say a person did terrible things in there life. I don't think they should have to go to Hell all unterity. That is a little harsh. Isn't God about forgivness anyway? Making someone go to Hell forever isn't my idea of forgiving. Or say you were a good person but you didn't accomplish something important to you in your life. It shouldn't be like "oh well, sorry". That person should get a second chance in life. Then when a person/spirit gets the job done, they may move onto The Kingdom Of Heven. So, I belive in reicarnation. I don't think God will judge someone by only looking at 80 years of there life.
