It's Saturday! I just wanted to let you know that next Friday is going to be my last day on the blog for the year 2oo7 because I'm going on a vacation and I'm leaving on Saturday! I'm planning on doing a Christmas special on Friday before I leave!!! I jsut wanted you guys to know so that you wouldn't be so surprised!
Today is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary!!! Long name, huh?
Anyway here are the definitions of what some of this means!
solemnity: being earnest; earnesty
immaculate: pure; free from blemishes
conception: the beginning of pregnancy; in this case, the beginning of Jesus's life
I'm working on the Christmas special as we speak, or as I type! Talk to you on Monday, seeing Sunday is my day off!

It's Friday!!!
It's Friday so I'm gonna post some stuff from this book I have! So I thought we would talk about Mortal and Venial Sin.
SINS
Mortal Sin
When we commit some sins, we choose to turn our backs totally on God. The Church uses the term mortal sin to describe these sins. The word mortal means deadly. A mortal sin causes the loss of sanctifying grace. It kills completely the life of grace within us. Unrepented mortal sin brings eternal deatch. We can, of course, find forgiveness of mortal sins and restore our life with God through the proper celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Venial Sin
Venial Sin involves a less serious offense against God. It doesn't cause the loss of sanctifying grace. The idea that they are less serious doesn't mean that it really doesn't matter that we commit them.
All sin turns our hearts away from God's love. Getting into the habit of commiting venial sins can set us up to sin more seriously.

It's Wednesday!
It's Wednesday! Today I wanted to share a passage from the Bible that I really like! A lot of people don't like this because they can't follow it!
Here it is!
"Let your 'Yes' mean 'Yes,' and your 'No' mean 'No.' Anything more is from the evil one.
You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on (your) right cheek, turn the other one to him as well.
If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well.
Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles.
Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.
You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.
But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same?
And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same?
So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect."
Matthew 5:37-48
Don't you just love it??? What do you think about the offer the other cheek thing!

It's Monday!!!
Heyy it's Monday! Today we'll still have a question but first I want to share a Christmas card that I found that I thought was really pretty!
Okay, on the front it has Baby Jesus surronded by animals and it says "For Unto Us A Child Is Born." The picture looks something like this: Inside the card there's a poem:
ONE SOLITARY LIFE
He was born in an obscure village. He worked in a carpenter's shop until He was thirty and for those years He was an itinerant preacher. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never owned a home. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never traveled 200 miles from the place where He was born.He never did one of the things that accompany man's idea of greatness. He had no credentials but Himself. While He was still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against Him. His friends ran away. Some of them denied him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross betweeen two theives. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on Earth---His coat. When He was dead, He was taken down and laid in a borrowed grave. Nineteen centuries have come and gone and today He is the central figure of the human race. All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built, and all the parliments taht ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have never affected the life of man upon earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life.

Isn't that just beautiful??? I thought you'd like it!
And now onto the question...
What do you guys think about sentencing someone to death row and them knowing that when their time comes for the death penalty they'll get killed by law???
Hope you guys will comment because I really want to know what you guys feel about this topic.
Oh and by the way, I don't believe there should be women priests because God made priests in the image of Jesus Christ. If you didn't figure it out already, Jesus was a man. This may sound hypocriticalish because I am all for women's rights but I don't believe that being a priest should be one of them!
