It's Monday! Today's is a very special day! It's Question day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's the question:
Do you believe in evolution or creationism? Do you think Christianity goes hand in hand with science or not??? Some people say they do! Do you believe in the creation of Adam and Eve during the seven days of making???
For the answer to last weeks question I think that there shouldn't be any choice to have the death penalty! No one should die because of something wrong. People should have their lives taken by God, not by the actions of people!

First of all Zo, thanks for using my suggested question!
Here's where I stand on the whole creationism versus evolutionism.
I think both ideas have major flaws. Like, if the world was created in seven days, how do you explain fossil records? And so many other signs that point to evolution? One day we weren't here, the next day we were? Yeah. Right
Then again, with evolutionism, how could one nonliving cell suddenly become living? How did the first living thing form out of nonliving things? I'm sure there's an answer but I still don't understand it.
THEREFORE!!!
I have my own unique opinion. First of all, the Bible never says that the seven days lasted 24 hours each. It doesn't neccesarily mean literally seven days. And I don't believe that the world was literally created in seven days.
Here's what I believe: I do think that animals evolved, and I do think that humans orignally were monkeys, a million BAZILLION years ago. But I do believe in Intelligent Design. How else would life just come out of nowhere? Life had to come from something, and I think it came from G-d. He started off the whole evolution, but he didn't make seperate things on a certain day in a week. The world did not form in one week.
A book from my hebrew school put it very intelligently. If you were on a hike, and you noticed some rocks formed so that they read "hello", you might think "oh, thats strange." and carry on. It probably happened naturally, right? But then you see it again a few minutes ahead, and then again, and you realize that someone must have set up all these rocks to say "hello" because they couldn't possibly have all formed that way naturally.
Evolutionism is the same thing. If a simple rock pattern can't occur naturally, then how could the complex DNA strands of a human being, or a banana, or even a bacteria, occur naturally? Something had to make things the way they were.
So i guess I believe in both theories.

Umm well I totally see what you are saying about how did the very first living cell go from unliving to living. But then if god created how was god created? It is like the whole chicken and egg thing :) I think that humans just really don't know at this point. But I really don't think that god created the earth in seven days. I also have trouble really grasping the whole evolution thing too.
I see what you're saying shira. I've actually been doing quite a bit of research on this, due to my social studies project that centers around the Scopes Trial. It's true, how did G-d form? Has he just been here since forever? When did time start?
OOOH!!!!! it's all so freaky deaky and confusing and you're exactly right. Humans really don't know right now. Both theories have gaps in them, and these gaps are quite major and they make it difficult to decide which theory is "right" or "wrong"
However, I dont think this is exactly a debate topic, but a good question just to hear eachother's opinions. Because it's not our job to tell other people that their belief is wrong. :)
I would like to hear everyone else's opinion on this question though! All these people chatting on the little chatbox, but where are they for the actual posts???
I think that everything that ever existed never started and it will never end, well the universe is what I mean when I say everything. Like a circle. You can't make something out of nothing and if everything did have a starting point when everything was created there had to be something there to create it. So there was never nothing so "everything" never began. It was always there.
Thats really interesting Roni cool idea.
It's just really hard for me to wrap my head around both theories. I mean, we were just learning about how the universe was created in science this week, and it was mind boggling. I mean, scientists think that it started as a tiny dot the size of a pinhead, and then exploded. I mean, I'm sorry, I love science and I really do lean towards evolutionism, but does anyone else think that this is just a little far fetched?
All I want is a theory that actually makes sense, that isn't so completely ridiculous and out there that it's impossible to understand. But as Shira said before, I don't think I'm ever going to get that explanation. Because as of now, we just don't know.
