It's Saturday! OMG I'm soooo excited that the week is like done and over with! I'm sooo tired its really weird! Here's a new thing I decided to include!!!
False Gods
We, as Catholics, are always supposed to remember that God is the only God and should be the center of our lives. We shouldn't have any false gods like power or material things. You guys are probably wondering how power or material things can be a false god. Power or material things can sometimes be the center of our lives. In this world, everyone is made to want things like brand name clothes or shoes. Some people get out of hand thinking about these things and start kind of worshiping them. Would you give up God for any of the following??? money, power, video games, sports, sport heroes, music stars, music videos, popularity, designer clothes, language, beauty products, or models. If you said yes to any one of these, you need to step back and look at what your doing. You may just be ruining your life by giving up God.

I agree that it is really bad to be totally centered around material things or power popularity etc. We should think about more important things like love kindness etc.
I think so too. You shouldn't have to feel guilty about wanting things though.
People now definitely are wayyy too materialistic. But you don't have to turn it into a religious thing. I mean, some people may be athiest, but that doesn't mean that they should be materialistic. Being materialistic isn't bad because it ruins our way to heaven. It's bad because we care more about things than people.
Well, I personally think ruining your way to heavn is a bad thing.
My point is, not everyone believes in heaven or even G-d, so that shouldn't be the only reason NOT to be materialistic. I don't neccesarily think that being materialistic is "ruining your way to heaven", it's just annoying when people care more about objects than people.
Well, I suppose people should not be materialistic for both reasons.

PS. Zo probably put it's ruining your way to heaven cause this blog is Why I Love Jesus and she's teaching what the Catholic Church believes. (Is that right, Zo?) But I agree, it is annoying when people care more about things than people AND God.
PPS. I agree with you anonymous! You shouldn't have to feel bad and whip yourself cause you want something, but only thinking about and loving and praising material goods is unhealthy and sac-religious.
