It's Wednesday! I have another thing from my Living Faith for Kids booklet!
The Lord, who delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear, will also keep me safe from the clutches of this Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:37
One of the things that stands out the most in this story is how much David trusts God. David is certain that God saved him from his troubles in the past. And David is sure that God will be with him again as he goes into battle. David is so certain that he convinces the king of it. And even in battle, David proclaims his trust in God to his enemy. Maybe it was his trust in God that enabled David to do what nobody else believed was even possible. Indeed, with God we can do great things!
God, help me to trust that you are always with me!
Hope you liked it! I really like this story/passage/thingy!

Cool story! Zoe, could you check Fridays poast again? I want to hear your opinion. Thanks!
Hey I was checking out the older poast and Zoe said that if you dont belive in God you will go to Hell. I dont belive in god, i think. Do you think i will go to hell?
Have you guys ever heard of Wiccan? It is a religion that worships nature. I just want to let all you guys know that we do NOT worship the devil like a lot of christans think. I just hope that my religion will ge respect some day.
That is a coolio story. WHO IS GOING THROUGH HARRY POTTER WITHDRAWL!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????
I am!!! I loved the ending to the series but it is sad the books are over.
Yeah i agree. Maybe she will write more books.
Sure, Roni! I'll check the Friday post again. Ummm, concerned, that's not EXACTLY what I was saying! First, I want to say that when you said, "I don't believe in God, I think" it told me that you really weren't sure. If you aren't sure it's not like guaranteed that you're going to hell. even if you turn to God in the last moment of your life, and you really mean it and believe it, you'll probably go to pregatory, and not to hell. Really...
Okay...Wiccan, yes I've heard about this religion, but I don't really know much about it. All I really knew is that there is some religion in the world that worshiped nature. I never suspected that your religion worshiped the devil. Only SOME of my fellow Christians think that, and I'M not one of them. Just to let you know.
Oh and hplurver, I'm glad that you think this is a cool story and all, but I'd really appreciate it if you guys wouldn't talk about books on this blog...especially Harry Potter. I'm not against that kind of book, I actually liked Harry Potter, but it's about like magic and stuff. I just don't believe in that and I hope you guys can just stop talking about stuff like that! Thanks
-Zoe
To Wiccan:
I totaly respect your religion. I hope all will respect it some day.
To Concerned:
I don't think God will send you to hell. I don't even belive in heaven or hell. I belive in reincarnation. Besides if "God" is all about forgiveness, she would not be so forgiving for sending people to hell forever for not beliving in him. She is not a dictator. I have my own image of God. A non christian image. God is whoever you need her to be. She can be good or bad. She is everything that ever is or was or will be. She is always with us and can be good or bad. She is like the force from starwars in a way, in my opionin.
I dont belive in god.
Well first of all, I think that zoe is really fortunate to have such a firm belief. But for others, such as concerned and myself, such firm belief is difficult. But what I have to say is, if you're really that worried, you can just do the whole "pray just in case". We learned about that in hebrew school. If youre not sure about God, then feel free to pray JUST IN CASE. it can't hurt, right?
If you know that you don't believe in him however, then that's okay too! I don't think that people are banished to hell for not believing. I think it has more to do with what you did in your life. Do you want to know what i REALLy believe though? I think heaven and hell is all about doing what you want to do in life. If you want to pray your whole life and live conservatively, that's great! It's what you want to do and you'll probably go to heaven! If you want to live an athiest lifestyle and spend your life living like every day was your last, that's okay too! Just do your goals, and I think you'll be all set!
And wiccan- i've heard about your religion a lot. Granted, I'm not an expert, but you don't worship the devil and I know that! SATANISTS worship the devil. Hence their religion's name. Anyway, I don't really believe in the devil. A little red guy with horns and a forked tail that guards hell? Sounds far fetched to me.
And zoe, I respect your wishes, I really do, but I have to say to hplurver: YES I AM GOING THROUGH HARRY POTTER WITHDRAWEL AND I THINK I WILL ALWAYS BE IN WITHDRAWEL!!! Ehem. Okay sorry I just had to say that.
Hope you all respond!
Love becca!
I don't believe in God either. If there is a god, she or he is a force, not a person in the clouds. I know a lot about Wicca too, but I am Muslim. It makes me feel kind of weird when you say that everybody who feels differently than you is going to Hell. I respect your religion, and I would appreciate it if you would respect mine too.
aamina, I totally respect your religion. I really respect all the religions even though I don't agree with them. I'm sorry if I insulted you and I really didn't mean it! I learned a little bit about Islam in school, but not very much. So what do you believe? I really don't know that much so I would appreciate it if you could explain it to me! Thanks
-Zoe
I just want to say that I respect all religions. Muslim, Wicca, Christian, Judaism, etc. I don't think it's fair to say people are going to hell if they don't believe what you do. I think we can all believe whatever we want. Also Zoe it's totally fine not to believe in magic but I was wondering what makes you so sure it doesn't exist? I love Harry Potter very much. I don't necessarily believe in the magic in it but I am always open minded about it. Maybe it does exist.
I think magic is an explanation of things that humans can't explain. In this world, we might think fairies are magic but in another world they may be perfectly normal. Some things we can't explain, like levitation, we call magic but there doesn't mean there is not a scientific explanation for it.
Okay just to make this clear, I don't believe in magic, I believe in miracles. God causes miracles. Magic isn't really!
-Zoe
Do you guys really think that you only get one chance in life? You shouldn't be judged by God on one life time. Life is to short. And I don't think one "thing" (aka God) makes the decision on whether you did good if life. Good and bad is an opinon. You should decide if you did good or bad. Someone shouldn't decide for you. Plus you should get a second chance in life. It is a FORGIVING thing to do.
You sure talk a lot about forgiveness roni! Does that mean you believe in reincarnation? :)
As for the whole harry potter issue, I don't think it should matter whether or not we believe in magic. Personally, I don't. But the series is fictional. Just like the book Uglies! (if you haven't read it, I suggest it!) Anyway, almost all books are fictional! Just because we enjoy the content it doesn't mean we really believe in voldemort and magic wands! :)
Aamina- i agree with what you are saying! I don't believe that humans were modeled in God's image. I don't think God really has an image. If he does, I think it is beyond human comprehension. I always pictured him as sort of a cloud.... more like a presense, like you said. But not neccesarily one with a specific form!
To be fair, I don't remember Zoe ever saying "If you don't believe in God, you will go to Hell." Honestly, I can't picture that. I don't know what kinda of monster you guys picture Zoe as, but she is actually very nice and always respectful of other peoples religions. However, I think some of us need to remember this blog is called "Why I Love Jesus". It's perfectly acceptable not to believe in God, and nobody is saying you're a terrible person if you do. Give Zoe a break. Do you think she writes a kind post everyday so someone can rip on it? I don't think so.
Skittles.
P.S. I have never heard of Wiccan or that people think you believe in the devil. That's very unfortunate.
P.P.S. I don't think the devil is how you described at all, Strudel! To be clear on the story of the devil, visit this website: http://www.geocities.com/b_r_a_d_99/rebelangel.htm
P.P.P.S. I don't picture God as a giant with a long white beard and five fingers (lol, Simpsons reference. In an episode featuring God, he has five fingers while all other charcters have four.). Nor do I picture the devil as "a ittle red guy with horns and a forked tail that guards hell". Those both seem a little cleche (is that how you spell it?) to me.
Steph, Zoe did say that she believes that unless someone accepts God, they will go to hell. Whether she meant it as harsh as it came out, I don't know. But she did say that and I don't think Zoe would deny it. You haven't been here for a whole week, you just didn't see her comment when she said it.
And nobody ever called Zoe a monster. People were merely picking up on what she said and asking for her to go into more detail. There is no need to lash out on the people of this blog, especially when you don't know all the facts.
Furthermore, I know that the red guy with horns may be a CLICHE {that is how you spell it} but I don't believe in him period. he isn't even a part of the Jewish religion.
Anyway, that's all. :)
p.s. Where are all our other commentors?
Ok maybe she did say that, I don't know. But you shouldn't be critisizing her because shes saying what she believes in because you all are doing the same thing and she doesn't question your faiths rudely. I'm just defending Zo.
I hope Zoe didn't feel that she was being criticized, but it's kind of a big deal when you say that everyone who doesn't believe in God is going to hell. I think if anything, certain people got offended because they felt that Zoe was saying that they are probably going to hell, just because they don't believe in God.
To Zoe, I don't think that's what you meant at all. That's just the way it came out.
To Steph, there's nothing to defend Zoe from. Nobody was critisizing what she believed. If I may speak for myself, I was a little bit shocked at what she said so obviously I wanted to learn more about what she believes. Nobody is critisizing anybody. We're just curious as to what we all believe.
Anyway, let's leave it up to Zoe to decide if Zoe needs somebody defending her.
I wasn't really refering to you, Strudel. I was talking about when "Concerned" said "I don't believe in God, I think. Do you think I will go to Hell?"
I thought that was kind of putting Zoe on the spot because it's hard to tell someone you think they're going to Hell. That's all.
