Hunting is great! It provides a lot of suspense! I almost had a heart attack when Lurent said he was hunting and going to eat Bella! Aaahhhhhhhhhhhh! Any way you probably ment the human version I'm against it for recreation but if you are starving or it is part of your culture or for a religious reason then I think it is tottally fine. I dont like the fact that you can buy a shot gun at walmart. That is repulsive. It is also what America has come to. Sad sad sad sad sad.

i think hunting is awesome because first u kill and animal but your not just wasting a life you have to eat it after which is really tasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I think that if you kill an animal you should eat it, like Mikey has comically suggested.

Hunting is actually better than meatpacking industries anyway. My dad hunts, and he put it nicely when he said that at least when you hunt, the animal you killed lived a good life. Thats hardly ever true for all the steak companies out there though.

And if you're against hunting, you better be against driving too, cuz so many animals are killed on the highway and then just WASTED its pathetic. Hunting controls the animal population, and there is no reason to be against it, unless you are a vegetarian and you never drive a car or ride the bus or use any means of transportation other than a bike or your legs.

Yeah so im for it.

And people if you wanna tlak about the twilight book and anything else we're not allowed to talk about here, just go to this site that me and steph started:

Sometimes hunting can be bad, however, especially if it is overdone. I think that it is terrible when mother deer are killed and baby deer are left alone. Again, I can't really say too much, though, because I'm not a vegetarian (although I wish I could be)and I don't want to sound like a hypocrite. It makes me very sad when I see movies and such, when the animals are shot. Also, sometimes mistakes are made and the animal is never eaten! They died for nothing. But, I think that if you are starving to death and can only eat what you get yourself, than you should hunt.

It's very different, though, to hit an animal when you're driving. Hunting is an activity that is done on purpose, with the intention to kill the animal. Hitting an animal when you're driving is completely accidental! Also, people shouldn't hunt to "control the animal population". That is terrible, because what about the human population that is increasing? Should we kill some of us off to control the population?

People dont hunt TO control the animal population, but without hunting, animal population would get out of control. It's happened before when animal population gets so high that some animals starve to death cuz there isn't enough food for them..

And if the fur of the animal is used, it's still being used. You don't have to be starving to hunt an animal. The human species began as a species that hunts- why is it such a big and bad deal now? Anyway, animals hunt too. Why should it be okay for say.... a bear to hunt a dear but it shouldn't be okay for a person to hunt a dear? What, really, is the difference?

And even though it's an accident, animals are still killed on the highway all the time and they go to waste. They aren't eaten and their fur is certainly not used. Hunted animals are always put to good use. If you're against hunting, I hope you don't drive a car, because I think just as many animals die from car accidents as they do from hunting. And at least hunting has a purpose.

Bears hunt deer to survive. We have supermarkets and other supplies of food to live off of. I also didn't deny that animals are killed by cars, but there is also a huge difference as I said: it's an accident when cars kill animals. So, that is why someone can be "for" driving, but against hunting. Hitting animals with cars can't be controlled. It is not a person's choice whether they hit an animal driving on accident. It is a choice to choose to hunt and kill animals.

Hunting is still a much more humane way to get meat than buying your meat. When you buy, for example, a steak at the grocery store, you can never be sure how the animal lived its life, but the majority of animals in meatpacking industries live in cages and dirty environments. On the news, there was recently video footage of cows being kicked and abused by workers at a meat factory. These cows were sick and unable to walk, and the people were plowing, yes PLOWING the animals so that they would move. It was an incredibly sad video.

But things like that never happen in the wild. When you're eating an animal that you hunted yourself, you can be sure that the animal lived a free, open, and happy life. And even if its mother was shot by a hunter, thats not anywhere near comparable to what its life would be like had it lived in a meat factory.

Not that I neccesarily want to see animals die, but I would rather see an animal get shot in a field and die instantly rather than have to watch that terrible footage again.

Even though I agree with you Becca, hunting is not going to stop animal cruelty in meat-packing industries. We are not comparing hunting to buying meat from the store. We are comparing hunting to not hunting.
