Jamie Lynn Spears being pregnant at age 16 is a bad example to set for any kid and I don't think anyone can say otherwise. Do you think that it's a bad choice that Nickelodean (not sure about spelling) made to continue having her on Zoey 101?
I don't want this to turn into a "hollywood" debate! I really just want to know your opinions on this topic! I don't want anyone to talk about what young hollywood is doing and all that junk. k?
Steph and Becca came up with this question at school and then I asked some guys and their replies were "No, she's hot." and "Who cares? She's hot!" Okay, now that made me really mad!!!!!!!!!! Okay, well whatever!

While I see the dilemna here -- would Nick be glamorizing teen pregnancy? it seems more irresponsible to just get rid of the entire show. Not only would Jamie be let go of a job because she was pregnant, but tweens everywhere would be confused. They would ask their mothers what happened, and I believe most would have to explain to their daughters that sweet little Zoe (Jamie) was pregnant. That might stir the pregnancy issue up itself, which would be what Nick would be trying to avoid with cutting the show to begin with.
In our modern society, teens do get pregnant. It would be ignoring this growing problem to simply drop the show. Instead, by addressing Jamie's problem through her character, Zoe, we are reaching a wide audience to inform them that this is what happens when you have sex. I'm not saying that Nick should go into details, but to just spawn conversations between parents and their daughters. I also hope that Nick doesn't plan to glamorize the situation. I hope they show all the appropriate problems that pregnant teen girls experience. That would be the responsible and right thing to do in the situation.
Wait one second!!! did they work the pregnancy into the show !?!?!?!?!?!?!? this is a catastrophe if they are!!!!!!! that means Zoe and Chase will have to have had sex!!! The last episode that I saw was when Zoe left for a boarding school in europe. Then she overheard Chase telling Logan and Michel that he loved her over a web cam only Chase was on the verge of tears because he had acted like a jerk before she left and he didn't even say good bye to her... the whole think was very touching /sad. I think instead of having a pregnant Zoe on the show they should have her get knocked out (not knocked up) so then the younger kids can be warned against head injures and the older kids (such as moi et Artie) can think "Wow Jamie-Lynn is very irresponsible. All hail Sean Flynn and his georgieosity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Well the show is about Zoey. And Jamie lynn spears PLAYS zoey, so if they replaced her, it certainly wouldn't be the same. But I think Jamie Lynn Spears should have been more careful, especially when she knows she has a children's show to go back to when the night is over! Personally, I wouldn't really care either way, but I can't wait to see how they're going to handle it when she gets big! :-p
You know, I think I think it was an accident and her condom broke. My bet is that they will film untill her fetus is recognizable as a baby then they will just run re-runs then if Jamie Lynn wants out the they will probibly end the show because you can't exactly have Zoey 101 with out the Zoey part. Ohmygodohmygodohmygod! How great would it be if they started a series all about Chase! It could be called Chase 215 and it would be the same kind of show only about Chase after Zoey leaves! Hey, I'd watch!
Even though Jamie Lynn's actions were very irresponsible, the way she is handling the situation, in my opinion, is very responsible. Kudos to her for keeping the baby, studying hard to complete High School, taking parenting classes, and keeping an overall low profile.
I think it was wise to keep her on the show because just because you get pregnant, doesn't mean your whole world stops right then. There are worse things that can happen to you than getting pregnant.
Let's just hope she doesn't dump the kid with the nanny 24/7. :D
I'm also curious to see what happens when her baby bump appears.
okay first of all...there's this new guy on the show and zoey and him are dating and i think he's going to get zoey pregnant because chase went to england umperminently! he's coming back! And Jamie Lynn isn't going to be taking care of her baby! she's giving it to her mom and her mom is the one that's taking the baby caring classes!
Haha wait wait what's all this hostility towards the brits? How could anyone resist their accents? And I think that if they worked the pregnancy into the show it might show to some girls that teen pregnancy is ok. and we don't need to deliver the wrong message!
I love their accents! They remind me of the old country for some reason. Ind I agree it the pregnancy is worked into the story then it will send the wrong message AND it would take twice as long to film because there will be a ton of duper changes on set and of will probibly cry right in the middle of Chase's incredibly sexy lines. Will someone tell me if Zoey's new "boyfriend" is hot?
Nickelodeon will not be advocating pregnancy, or making it seem "ok" if they show the real problems teens face with pregnancy! Kids will see all the hardships that result from pregnancy, and will maybe remember those hardships later on and choose not to have sex, or have safe sex. As long as Nickelodeon doesn't glamorize the situation, then it would work well.
Also, what message does it send if they would choose to fire Jamie Lynn Spears because of her pregnancy? Basically, your job will turn against you because you're pregnant? People need to support pregnant women, not remove their source of income! That would be a terrible message.
Look if they work the pregnancy into the story then suddenly it becomes a more mature show because of the sex aspect (unless they take the stork angle...) anyway there are sooooo many young girls out there who idolize Zoey (I'm one of them minus the girl part and the young part she is best friends with the second most delicious looking creature ever to walk the earth. Artie of course is the first most delicious.) those little girls would look at their idol and think pregnancy=good no matter how nick portrays it. And even if they did take the young pregnancy is bad angle, how would you feel if the tv show you were on took your real life situation that you had to live with and told the world that it was a horrible choice and they used you as an example of what not to do? My point is that I don't thing Jamie Lynn would agree with it if they were going to take the negative angle twards her.
I don't think that showing the hardships of being pregnant would make it a negative view. It would be a completely realistic view. Pregnant teenagers know that it is not a walk in the park to be pregnant at their age. I just think that, by showing all the appropriate things that happen to pregnant teenagers would be a beneficial and realistic approach.

I think there are plenty of things out there that explain teen pregnancy. Take Juno for instance. Leave the hardcore true life stories to lifetime, shall we? The show isn't about hardcore stuff like that, its about like baking brownies and drinking powerade and playing glamorous baseball. Haha
Anyway galord i dont know what youre thinking chase is not cute AT ALL. Logan or whatever his name is is OK but the more i look at him the less cute he is. Now let's talk about ORLANDO BLOOM!! OR BRAD PITT!!! MMMMMM. YUMMMAY!
