It's Wednesday!!!
It's Wednesday!!! I'm going to post these quotes from the Bible!
An official asked him this question, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
Jesus answered him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.
You know the commandments, 'You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother.'"
And he replied, "All of these I have observed from my youth."
When Jesus heard this he said to him, "There is still one thing left for you: sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
But when he heard this he became quite sad, for he was very rich.
Jesus looked at him (now sad) and said, "How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God."
Those who heard this said, "Then who can be saved?"
And he said, "What is impossible for human beings is possible for God."
Luke 18:18-27
Does this mean that we should give up everything??? What's this whole thing talking about??? What does Jesus mean when he speaks to these people???
Those might be some questions that you have for me, but if you ask me, I'll just reply: "You're a smart crowd, you figure it out."
Don't think that I'm being mean, but I think you'll get more out of this passage if you try and figure out what it means rather than me just telling you!

It's Monday!
It's Monday! Today's is a very special day! It's Question day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's the question:
Do you believe in evolution or creationism? Do you think Christianity goes hand in hand with science or not??? Some people say they do! Do you believe in the creation of Adam and Eve during the seven days of making???
For the answer to last weeks question I think that there shouldn't be any choice to have the death penalty! No one should die because of something wrong. People should have their lives taken by God, not by the actions of people!
-Zoe
People: please don't spam or use the cbox innapropiately if you want it to stay as a permanent "thing"!

I'm planning on doing a Christmas special on Friday before I leave!!! I jsut wanted you guys to know so that you wouldn't be so surprised!
Today is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary!!! Long name, huh?
Anyway here are the definitions of what some of this means!
solemnity: being earnest; earnesty
immaculate: pure; free from blemishes
conception: the beginning of pregnancy; in this case, the beginning of Jesus's life
I'm working on the Christmas special as we speak, or as I type! Talk to you on Monday, seeing Sunday is my day off!

It's Friday!!!
It's Friday so I'm gonna post some stuff from this book I have! So I thought we would talk about Mortal and Venial Sin.
SINS
Mortal Sin
When we commit some sins, we choose to turn our backs totally on God. The Church uses the term mortal sin to describe these sins. The word mortal means deadly. A mortal sin causes the loss of sanctifying grace. It kills completely the life of grace within us. Unrepented mortal sin brings eternal deatch. We can, of course, find forgiveness of mortal sins and restore our life with God through the proper celebration of the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Venial Sin
Venial Sin involves a less serious offense against God. It doesn't cause the loss of sanctifying grace. The idea that they are less serious doesn't mean that it really doesn't matter that we commit them.
All sin turns our hearts away from God's love. Getting into the habit of commiting venial sins can set us up to sin more seriously.

It's Wednesday!
It's Wednesday! Today I wanted to share a passage from the Bible that I really like! A lot of people don't like this because they can't follow it!
Here it is!
"Let your 'Yes' mean 'Yes,' and your 'No' mean 'No.' Anything more is from the evil one.
You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on (your) right cheek, turn the other one to him as well.
If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well.
Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles.
Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.
You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.
But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same?
And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same?
So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect."
Matthew 5:37-48
Don't you just love it??? What do you think about the offer the other cheek thing!

It's Monday!!!
Heyy it's Monday! Today we'll still have a question but first I want to share a Christmas card that I found that I thought was really pretty!
Okay, on the front it has Baby Jesus surronded by animals and it says "For Unto Us A Child Is Born." The picture looks something like this: Inside the card there's a poem:
ONE SOLITARY LIFE
He was born in an obscure village. He worked in a carpenter's shop until He was thirty and for those years He was an itinerant preacher. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never owned a home. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never traveled 200 miles from the place where He was born.He never did one of the things that accompany man's idea of greatness. He had no credentials but Himself. While He was still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against Him. His friends ran away. Some of them denied him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross betweeen two theives. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on Earth---His coat. When He was dead, He was taken down and laid in a borrowed grave. Nineteen centuries have come and gone and today He is the central figure of the human race. All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built, and all the parliments taht ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have never affected the life of man upon earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life.

Isn't that just beautiful??? I thought you'd like it!
And now onto the question...
What do you guys think about sentencing someone to death row and them knowing that when their time comes for the death penalty they'll get killed by law???
Hope you guys will comment because I really want to know what you guys feel about this topic.
Oh and by the way, I don't believe there should be women priests because God made priests in the image of Jesus Christ. If you didn't figure it out already, Jesus was a man. This may sound hypocriticalish because I am all for women's rights but I don't believe that being a priest should be one of them!

It's Saturday!
Some definitions of words that have to do with the Advent season!
Advent: a holy season of the Christian church, the period of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Christ, also known outside the Church as the season of Christmas.
Advent wreaths: a group of four candles that the church illuminates each week leading up to Christmas.
Well that's emough for the definitions part! I got kinda bored with that!
I figured I wish you guys a Happy New Year seeing that it's the last day of the Liturgical year and tomorrow is the first!
Sorry I had to shorten this up!

It's Monday...Again!
Here's a debatable question that I have been dying to ask you guys!
What do you think about having women priests? Do you think it's morally correct or not? People say priests are supposed to be in the image of Jesus, what do you think?
Tell me what you guys think! I was supposed to tell you guys what comment was the best but all comments were really good! I couldn't decide what comment to feature so I figured you guys should just check out last week's posts!
Just to let you guys know I am definately Pro-Life and if you want to convince me otherwise, you can try but it's not gonna work!

It's Sunday!
It's Sunday and I decided that Sunday's going to be my day off! I'm so tired so I'm not going to post anything on Sunday. Check out the bottom of the left side of the site and you can click on today's gospel!
The rulers sneered at Jesus and said,"He saved others, let him save himselfif he is the chosen one, the Christ of God." Even the soldiers jeered at him. As they approached to offer him wine they called out,"If you are King of the Jews, save yourself." Above him there was an inscription that read,"This is the King of the Jews."Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying,"Are you not the Christ?Save yourself and us." The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply,"Have you no fear of God,for you are subject to the same condemnation? And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal."Then he said,"Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."He replied to him,"Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
If you don't have a bible at home I recommend you get one! That way I can just give you the "coordinates" of the Gospel and you can find it in the bible! you can always use http://www.usccb.org/nab/bible/ to find it!

It's Friday!
It's Friday! Usually that means I'll give you a passage from a book I have but I seemed to have misplaced it! Since we were talking about The Beatitudes, I decided to explain them in more detail! The Beatitudes mark the opening of the Lord's Sermon on the Mount! The Gospel of Luke and Matthew disagree a little! Some people think the little change in words matter, do you?
If you want to see all of The Beatitudes, you can check out Wednesday's post! I'm sorry I don't have very much to say! Usually I'd write a lot but there's not much I have to say about this subject!

{PS Happy Thanksgiving! Thank God!}
Sorry... "It's Not Wednesday!"
I'm sorry I couldn't post yesterday's post so I'll post it tonight! It's been really wild preparing for Thanksgiving so now I get to relax and post this! Tonight I'd like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! Today's theme is "quotes" from the Bible! Today I'd like to focus on the Beatitudes!
The Beatitudes are what Jesus describes as how the people of the Kingdom of Heaven are or will be blessed!
These are the Beatitudes:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:3-12
Do you feel that these are going to happen or are happening right now???
You'll find out what I believe next Wednesday!

It's Tuesday!
It's Tuesday and you guys know what that means!!! It's Music Video Day!This video is one of my favorite! Mary and I chose this video together because we really love it! This song talks about how we are so special to be loved by God and how we should always appreciate it! All of us love God, right? So let's show it! This video is so touching! It means a lot to me to know that other people love Jesus and God as much as I do and that we have something in common!!! The song of the week is Who Am I? by Casting Crowns!
Casting Crowns-Who Am I
On Thursday (I think), we're going to have another video and I can't wait! Mary introduced me to this kind of music and I love it now! Hope you enjoyed this song! It's truly beautiful. If you can't see the player here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjhxOv9YDag

Here's an Update!
My friend, Mary, is going to be joining the blog as an author, so she's gonna be helping me out! I'm usually really busy, so I hope Mary or I can post everyday so we can follow our "schedule". Yes, I made a schedule. There are going to be different things in the posts everyday.
Monday is Questions/Answers Day!
Tuesday is Music Videos Day!
Wednesday is Bible Exerpts/Quotes Day!
Thurday is Another Video/Pictures of Jesus Day!
Friday is a Section from a Book I have Day!
Saturday is Words of the Week Day!
Sunday is The Week's Masses/Reflection Day!
So that's the schedule that's going to start on Monday! I'm not sure what Mary's gmail thing is so I'll leave a comment or post when I find out. I might accidentally post on the name zothetoe1215, just know that it's me! I decided to let you guys post anonymous comments but I really prefer that you sign in or make a name so I know who you guys are. Mary and I are really excited about this blog, so we hope you are, too. Please spread news about this blog to your friends!
